Our Team

  • Ethan To

My name is Ethan To, graduating in May 2026 as a Psychology BS degree undergraduate. I am from Cypress, TX and am currently pursuing medicine! I went into this project looking to learn more about how ethics combines with healthcare from Dr. Stahl and was intrigued by this historical project of a unique public health project.

  • Grainne Caughey

I am a third-year medical student at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. I’ve earned undergraduate degrees in Biological Sciences and Global Health Studies from Northwestern University. My interests include pediatric medicine and medical ethics.  I have been part of the research team since 2024 and have especially enjoyed exploring the historical and ethical themes of the project. I am particularly interested in how "Operation Tat-Type" reflects evolving ideas of personal responsibility and communal health.

  • Amelie Fleury

Hi, my name is Amelie Fleury and I am a sophomore Medical Humanities Major on the Pre-Medical track in the Baylor Honors College. I am working towards a certificate in Bioethics and joined this project because I am interested in the role of religion in public trust of healthcare institutions. Currently I serve the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core as a Peer Instructor and member of the Leadership Council. After graduation I plan to pursue a dual MD/PhD in Medical Humanities.

  • Rowan Bybee-Gibb

Hello! I’m Rowan, and I am the website and social media manager for Bioethics for the People! My dad is Dr. Gibb, so I have been a supporter from the very beginning. I have an Associate of Applied Sciences from Kalamazoo Valley Community College, and a specialization in Visual Development and Communication. I also work at WMED in their Standardized Patient program.

  • Kristin Alyousif

I am a librarian at the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Library and Information Science from Wayne State University. My expertise includes library digital strategy and information management, with professional interests in Latin, Classical Greek, and ancient medicine. An insatiable love of reading and language inspired me to pursue librarianship, further encouraged by my mother’s love of local history and her dedication to the community’s house museum.

  • Carter Wright

My name is Carter Wright, and I am a Junior majoring in Medical Humanities on the pre-medicine track at Baylor University. I started archival work for Dr. Stahl in August of 2025, and my hobbies include pickup basketball and cooking at home. I wanted to assist in research because I enjoyed thinking more deeply about the bioethical questions the tat-type project raised, as well as the mystery surrounding many of its details. Hope you all enjoy!

  • Evan McDermott

I'm Evan McDermott, currently a junior undergrad pursuing a Computer Science degree at Michigan State University and I'm the editor for this podcast. I'm originally from Kalamazoo Michigan, which I can assure you is a real place. I heard about the opportunity to work for this show and knew I wanted to be a part of it after seeing the previous work. This is my first proper editing job, so I look forward to being a part in making something for all of you to enjoy.
