  • Mikaela Kim

    Mikaela is one of our student interns. She is a senior at Baylor University majoring in Medical Humanities and minoring in Philosophy. Mikaela is a 2023 DeBakey Scholar and was chosen to be a 2023 Provost’s Scholar during the program’s inaugural year. Mikaela is passionate about bioethics and hopes to become a Clinical Ethicist and bioethics professor. Her research interests include end-of-life ethics, informed consent, reproductive ethics, and racial equity. Upon graduating from Baylor, Mikaela intends to pursue a PhD in Bioethics and a subsequent Clinical Ethics Fellowship.

    In her free time, Mikaela enjoys thrifting, logging movies on Letterboxd, and beating her family and friends in bananagrams.

  • Madison Follis

    Madison recently graduated from Baylor University with a B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Global Health. She spent her four years at Baylor working as an undergraduate researcher in a Vector Biology lab, studying an invasive species of mosquito capable of transmitting malaria. Upon taking Dr. Stahl's Bioethics course, she became interested in learning more about bioethics, specifically cases concerning end-of-life care. In the fall, Madison will be starting at the University of Florida Genetics Institute, working towards her PhD in Genetics and Genomics. She hopes to pursue infectious disease research, and eventually work towards advocating for global health equality.

    In her free time, Madison enjoys reading and visiting different coffee shops around town. Her current read is The Language of God by Francis Collins. Sic 'em Bears AND Go Gators!

  • Helen Webster

    Helen is our communications manager. She is a JD/PhD student in Health Care Ethics at Saint Louis University. Helen is interested in emerging technologies, decision-making, neuroethics, and clinical ethics consultation. In law school, Helen is the Note and Comment Managing Editor of the Journal of Health Law and Policy (of which Tyler was formerly the editor-in-chief) and was a legal research and writing teaching assistant. Before graduate school, Helen worked in a lab at Duke’s Human Vaccine Institute studying vaccines for Zika virus and cytomegalovirus.

    Helen enjoys walking and running in the parks around St. Louis, eating brisket tacos at The Royale, and finding the best London Fog latte in town. Helen’s favorite TV show is Severance.
